Some lucky punters, from near and far, were the first members of the general public to lay their eyes on the interior of the redeveloped former headquarters of The Northern Daily Leader.
The makeover has been led by real estate agent and property developer Mark Sleiman who happily gave the first tour of the Brisbane Street building to a group of former Leader staff as part of a recent reunion.

“Some of them spent a substantial part of their lives in that building and it shares a lot of memories for them so I was happy to have them through,” Mr Sleiman said.
The Lionheart Property Development managing director hoped to have the building open to the wider public by the end of October, but admitted there were a lot of moving parts.
He said there were still four commercial spaces remaining in the precinct and expected interest to pick up once the building was opened.
Tamworth Regional Council (TRC) heritage working group chair Juanita Wilson welcomed the renovations which she said paid homage “both to its past and to its future”.
“This is a building that has been prominent in the history of Tamworth and because of its key location, it is also prominent to both locals and through traffic,” she said.
“The TRC heritage working group certainly endorses the reuse of historic buildings, as that contributes significantly to their survival into the future.”
