The winning runs were struck in 27th over, with Michael Rixon (25) and teenage new signing Henry Smith (4) the not out batsmen.
Norths have kept most of last season’s side together, and added young blood through wicketkeeper Smith and opening bowler Jaiden Tasker.
“It’s good to get some runs early in the season,” Rixon said of his 78.
He added: “We had a lot of contributors with the ball. Four of our five bowlers took wickets and they were all reasonably economical.”
Peter Watson (2-24 off seven overs) and Adam Mills (2-25 off seven overs) led the way for Norths with the ball, with Lachlan Barton (63 not not) top-scoring for Bective East.
