Tamworth Public School’s big run in the 2018 Knockout Competition continues to roll on.

The soccer team most recently beat Kingscliff Public School, 3-1, to move through to the state semi-finals.
Prior to that, Tamworth Public had beaten Nemingha Public, Westdale Public, Timbumburi Public, Narrabri West and Guyra Central School.
Captain Kayla Todd said the team improved with every game they played.
“[We’re] really excited. This is the furthest Tamworth Public has ever been so it’s really good,” Kayla said.
“It [teamwork] was outstanding. The Guyra game was a bit on and off, but the last game was very impressive.”
Fellow Tamworth Public player Matilda Berry said the team had gelled really well.
“They all pass the ball nicely and we have good teamwork,” she said.
Tamworth Public’s next game is on October 22 and will be against either Avalon Public School or Tanilba Bay Public School.

Kayla said the side would keep striving to improve.
“We’ve been training two days a week, if lucky three days. We’ve been working really hard and I hope we improve,” she said.
[We’re] really excited. This is the furthest Tamworth Public has ever been so it’s really good.
