The Black ‘N’ Blue Boxing Gunnedah fighter believes he’s done everything possible to make good on that promise as he prepares for his next bout against Rocky Jerkic for the OPBF Silver Middleweight Title.

“We put a lot of work into this [fight]. We were disappointed in that last fight,” Ryan said.

“We took the good things out of that fight, took the bad things out, and we’re going to bring that into our next fight. Putting it [hard work] in in the gym.

“We know what we can do. We’ve just gotta go out there and do it on fight night.”

Jerkic brings with him an impressive record of 16 wins and just the one loss to the fight night – called Bad Intentions 4 – at the Gunnedah Town Hall on October 6.

The record doesn’t intimidate Ryan – who’s had 15 wins and seven losses – rather it excites the Gunnedah boxer.

“We want the big fights. We’ve had 23 professional fights now and we want to really test ourselves against the best fighters,” Ryan said.

“If I put it all together on the night, we’ll be victorious.”

Ryan added: “They approached us and we were looking for a very good opponent for Gunnedah. It’s just meant to be, this fight. To get it in front of our home crowd is even more exciting.”

The October show will be the second fight night run by Black ‘N’ Blue Boxing this year.

Along with Ryan’s professional bout, Albert Nolan is set to make his professional debut while there will be a plethora of amateur fights featuring Gunnedah boxers.

“The last show was good and I think this one will be a lot bigger,” Ryan said.

“We’re fighting a 12-round championship fight and little Albert Nolan is making his professional debut. Everything’s shaping up to be a big night.”
