Buy A Bale fundraiser at Gipps Street sporting fields

A HORDE of hungry footballers proved to have some deep pockets kicking in some cash for the Buy A Bale drought appeal at the Gipps Street fields.

Some legends from The Northern Daily Leader served up a sizzling spread of snags and sangas to keep the local footballers fueled up.

The cook-up was hatched to drum-up cash for the Buy A Bale drought appeal, a joint fundraising initiative of Fairfax Media and Rural Aid.

The campaign has put more than $1.1 million in the pot for farmers since it launched.
