This Saturday, students will be scrubbing, washing, waxing and sponging for eight hours, all in the name of charity.
Student Tiana Varcoe said it’ll be the last fundraiser for Oxley High’s class of 2018 .
“It raises a lot of money and it’s good fun,” Tiana said.
“The entire year gets involved. We take time slots of an hour.”
Fellow student and media enthusiast Arden Lafforgue made a tongue-in-cheek video promoting the car wash, which has been a social media hit, racking up more than 10,000 views in just a few days.
“He always makes video trailers for things,” Tiana said.
“He did it as everyone was leaving school for the afternoon, so as everyone was driving home, he stopped them and started filming.”
The students said Bunnings had been very generous in donating their space and some supplies for the fundraiser.
The students will be in the front car park of Bunnings from 8am to 4pm. Car washes are $10 each.
