Willow Tree lumberjack Lachlan Bryce was in top form at the Adelaide Show.
The Northern Inland Academy of Sport Gunnedah Services and Bowling Club Lonestar program athlete, took out the Australian Tree Felling title, although due to the event having less than eight competitors wasn’t awarded the title.
The axeman then finished second in the junior standing block and third in the standing block handicap event.
Bryce also donned the green and gold for the first time, representing the Australian under-21s against New Zealand in a Trans-Tasman test.
As the youngest member of the team Bryce was benched for the first race, which Australia won.
He was then brought into the team on the double-saw, which is not his preferred discipline for the final two races. The Aussies took out both to be crowned 2018 under-21s teams champions.
Bryce’s Adelaide results followed a hugely successful Royal Queensland Show, where he secured eight titles in the open events, won the junior championships and was the most successful axeman of the show after topping the overall high point score.
