One of Australia’s largest meat processing and export companies - Teys Australia - will be hosting a family fun day in Tamworth to celebrate its 20th birthday and support local farming families.
Teys is donating all the entertainment for the event, which will be held on October 13 at Jack Woolaston Oval, and all funds raised at the family fun day will go to R U Aware, We Care a New England Northwest drought appeal.

“The Family Fun Day for Charity is a great opportunity for all the community to come together and support our local farmers as well as great chance to celebrate the great community that we live in,” said Tony Dean, HR manager at Teys Tamworth.
“Having grown up in Tamworth and now raising my own family in Tamworth, the one thing that hasn’t changed over the years is the support and community backing that is continuously on display when members of our community need some assistance and or support.
“We hope that the Tamworth community can join us and go online at Eventbrite, search Teys Family Fun Day for Charity, and purchase tickets to raise funds for members of our community that need our support at this moment.”
The day will feature children's rides, shows and activities including big slides, face painting, balloons, jumping castles, a monkey maze, wall climbing, pony rides, petting zoo, bungee run, putt putt golf, bungee hungry hippo, merry-go-rounds, mechanical bull rides and a surprise show for all the children.
Tickets are available at Eventbrite at a reduced rate if they are pre-purchased. For a family of five it will cost $40 if you pre-purchase or $50 on the day.
This includes entry and access to all the rides, activities and entertainment.
There will also be food and drinks available on the day to purchase, supplied by Teys Australia and prepared and distributed by local organisations Westpac Helicopter and Tamworth South Lions Club.
“Teys will make a donation to support these organisations who do a wonderful job within our community,” said Tony.
“Riding for Disabled are kindly supporting the day offering pony rides for the children with Teys also making a donation to support their ongoing work in the community.”
All proceeds from the gate and from all food and drinks sold on the day will be donated to R U Aware, We Care.
There will also be a giant raffle on the day as well as a display of the company’s history at the Teys Tamworth plant.
Any businesses that would like to donate items for the raffle or make a donation of any type can contact Tony Dean on (02) 6764 6737.
