Pathfinders will kick-off the celebrations at the Armidale Jockey Club on September 8, with a barbecue, games, activities and face painting for the kids, and a special surprise for the carers. The event will also feature two guest speakers: Jo Crowley, author of Colour My Story. Jo will be giving a presentation on her book and new resources and will later run training courses for carers. Gregory Davidson, Director Oorala Aboriginal Centre, UNE, will share his story about life in the foster care system. The event will run from 11am to 2pm.
At Allerlei House, Tamworth on September 11, there will be a book reading of A Secret Safe to Tell. Author Naomi Hunter’s book speaks about the importance of believing children when they disclose abuse.
