Tamworth pilots can lift their safety skills to new heights at a free aviation seminar next week.

The seminar will focus on defensive flying to make Tamworth skies even safer.

All local pilots are invited to take part in the safety seminar being run by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.

Pilots will learn more about threat and error management skills, as well as communication and situational awareness.

Threats to safe flying can be adverse weather, mechanical problems or other air traffic. Errors by pilots can be fuel mis-management, incorrect aircraft settings or navigation mistakes.

CASA’s Peter Gibson said local pilots will be given practical examples of how to fly defensively to best manage threats and errors.

Our goal is safe skies for all.
