A 52-year-old Condell Park was arrested and charged with hunting on private land without permission after an incident earlier this year at a property near Binnaway.
Police arrested and charged the man at Bankstown Police Station on Wednesday after he confessed to hunting on the Warrumbungles Way property.
The arrest follows reports to police from July 14 this year that stated a 71 year-old victim and her grandchildren were feeding their goats on the property when they saw a mob of her goats run up the hill towards her and the children.
It is then alleged the mob of goats was immediately followed by a volley of bullets.
The victim located three men who were trespassing on the victim’s property and approached them.
A number of images were taken of those present and the matter was reported to police.
The man’s arrest follows investigations conducted by the Rural Crime Prevention team who say they are continuing their investigations into the other parties present.
The 52-year-old has been conditionally bailed to appear at Coonabarabran Local Court on September 21.
Anyone with information regarding illegal hunting is urged to contact the Rural Crime Prevention Team or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
