David Hurley and wife Linda Hurley will spend a couple of hours at the family fun day at Quirindi Showground on Sunday, September 9.
The event is in place of the usual show, cancelled due to the drought.
Liverpool Plains Shire Council said it was “delighted” with news of the visit.

“LPSC looks forward to the vice-regal visit and believes the day provides the opportunity for families and friends to get together and take some time out,” a spokesperson said.
“Council encourages as many people as possible to attend and help strengthen the community spirit that is so necessary and important to seeing us through these trying times.”
The family fun day will include A Piece of the Plains Markets, old-fashioned children’s games, a pet show, lolly drop, rain dance, food, sideshow alley, live music, security dog display, a Little Miss and Little Master event, raffles and entry prizes.
- The fun day will be held on Sunday, September 9, from 9am to 3pm, at Quirindi Showground.
- Entry is by gold coin donation, with a percentage going to drought relief.
