Jason Cannon and Steve Cohen - partners of Cannon Cohen & Associates, in Tamworth - are passionate about regional accountancy.
Having racked up more than 35 years combined experience working in large regional accounting firms, the pair opened the doors of Cannon Cohen & Associates in December 2015.
“Both of us were raised in Tamworth and we are passionate and proud of our city and the people within it,” said principal Steve Cohen.
“We work with individuals, small and large business, primary production and assist people in their retirement strategies with SMSF solutions.”
In the last two and a half years, Steve said they had seen Tamworth grow significantly and their business had grown with the city.
“We have seen the need to build up our expertise in client accounting solutions such as MYOB, XERO, BankLink and QuickBooks,” said Steve.
“We have appointed Kerrie Bruce to oversee our client accounting function and she has had many years experience in these products as well as delivering add-on solutions to clients.
“Kerrie also runs her own successful business with her husband Steve at Tamworth Skipeze.”
The company growth has resulted in Cannon Cohen & Associates adding to their specialist team, appointing Ness Cramp as a trainee accountant and Brad Taylor as senior accountant.
“Both will play a major role in helping us service our clients with their business needs,” Steve said.
Brad has eight years experience in public practise accounting, five of them in Tamworth.
“He has a vast experience in the financial services sector having spent time as an insurance broker and as part of the accounts team at a large Sydney Toyota Dealership,” said Steve.
Cannon Cohen & Associates offer full financial planning services with an independent financial adviser on site. Glenn Balderston, a long time Tamworth resident, has had many years of experience managing share portfolios.
“He also has a background in energy consulting so can help small to large business navigate through their energy requirements whilst assisting in negotiating the right price.”
