On Saturday morning a crowd of nearly 1500 came together at the AELEC to cast an eye over more than 50 of the best, biggest and shiniest prime movers from all over the region and state, with proceeds going towards the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
President Keith Nelson said he was more than surprised with the turn out, and it has inspired the club to go bigger and better the next time around in 2020.

“It was a great surprise to get so many trucks and so many people turning up,” he said.
“We really weren’t expecting during a roaring drought.”
While a panel of judges awarded prizes for each different brand and type of truck, the top gongs went to Taylor Holdings and Errol Finlay, who took out the Judges Award and People’s Choice respectively.
On Saturday night the celebrations continued at the sold-out Truck Club Ball at Wests Leagues Club.
“It was a great night – excellent – there is a lot of support for the club out there,” Mr Nelson said.
The success of the entire day has primed the engines of the committee, who have already made contact with Tamworth Council and the Oxley Police to go bigger and better in two years time with a convoy down Peel Street, or another major street.
“Santa Claus would get lost down some of the exhaust pipes on these trucks, so we would have to check what the best street is, but that is the idea,” Mr Nelson said.
“I would like to host a business day, the convoy and Show and Shine, and the Ball every two years – like a bit of an expo.”
