In-car police video of the pursuit was played in Armidale Local Court on Monday after Kenneth Frederick Ahoy pleaded guilty to seven charges including two police pursuits, driving recklessly or furiously, driving while disqualified and special range PCA.
Police tried to stop Ahoy, who was behind the wheel of the Holden Commodore about 9.30pm on Saturday before a pursuit was launched in Erskine Street.
Officers terminated the pursuit due to Ahoy’s manner of driving minutes later. The same car was then spotted minutes later in Duval Street before highway officers initiated a second pursuit, when Ahoy failed to stop.
The chase, which went along Erskine Street, into the university area, along the New England Highway and down Uralla Road into Armidale and into Mann Street.

Ahoy surrendered but three passengers ran from officers and were arrested, but later released without charge.
Magistrate Michael Holmes said the public was put at risk by Ahoy, who was already disqualified from driving for several years, and said jail was the only option.
He sentenced Ahoy to 18 months behind bars with a minimum of 12 months non-parole.
Ahoy will be eligible for release in August 2019.
