The ‘Treks4kidz’ drive made a pit stop at Tamworth on the weekend en route to Tenterfield.
Trek spokeswoman Michelle McDonald said fundraising was becoming more challenging but “the numbers of sick kids would not decline”.
The charity trip has raised about $2 million for Captain Starlight in its two-decade history.

With the charity receiving no government funding, CEO Louise Baxter said it relied heavily on community support received through events like the trek.

“Every minute of every day a child is admitted to hospital in Australia, and Starlight is there to help them play, laugh and simply be kids again,” she said.
“We wouldn’t be able to do this without community events like Trek4kidz, and for their ongoing support we cannot thank them enough.”
