Through both their air and ground transport, the charity has helped chronically sick children in rural and regional New South Wales who need to travel to children’s hospitals in Sydney and Newcastle for treatment every few weeks.
This year the charity will be using Gunnedah’s AgQuip 2018 event to connect with locals and spread their message of support.
Little Wings business development manager Claudia Steiner told Fairfax Media connecting with rural people was a priority for the organisation.
“For families already under intense stress and financial pressure, long trips by car or public transport are expensive and exhausting,” Ms Steiner said.
“Little Wings makes their lives easier, with an efficient and safe way to travel to and from hospital for vital treatment.
“For children having ongoing treatment in hospital, such as chemotherapy, Little Wings offers the chance to travel home to spend time with family and friends in familiar surroundings.”

Ms Steiner said connecting with locals was especially important during the region’s on going drought.
“It is important now more than ever given the stresses the families are undergoing, it would be devastating for a child to miss out on urgent specialist attention,” she said.
“That’s why we will be using AgQuip as a way of getting our message across and letting people know our service is out there, willing to help.
“We will have a stand throughout the event and we will also be hosting a seminar on the Thursday from 11am as well.
“As well as that, we will also be selling merchandise and raffle tickets from the stand and a free ‘Little Wings’ drink bottle is given for every two raffle tickets bought, so there will be lots of good things happening.”
