It was a no brainer, really, said Bears president Jody Cooper.
Not only is Blanch an outstanding player but “he’s a good person”, Cooper said.
“And the players respect him – he’s just a good clubman.
“He’s only going to get better too as a coach, I think.”
Blanch has led the way for the Bears this year, with brilliant displays leaving him out front when the best and fairest award reached the cut-off point three rounds from the finals.

He is also high up on the try-scoring table with 14.
He will against lead the side when they meet Gunnedah in Sunday’s major qualifying final at Jack Woolaston Oval.
The former Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School star – who skippered the Tamworth boarding school to a University Shield before signing with Manly and later playing in France – is also a leader off the field.
“He’s found sponsors for the club too,” Cooper said.
“He’s just a good person to have around the place.”
For Blanch, the chance to continue what he started this season is pleasing.
He’s enjoyed the extra responsibility and is determined to spearhead the club to a fifth successive first-grade premiership in 2018.
“As the year has gone on I’ve become more comfortable,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to the rest of the season and next season too.
“I’ve had a few challenges this year but I’ve got used to how it all works and found the best way to go about things.”
He said re-signing is a positive for him as he can focus on “the next few weeks”.
“I can put all my energies into the rest of the season, the next three or four weeks, however it works out,” he said.
Meanwhile, Group 4 has announced that children aged under 16 will have free entry to all finals matches when they begin in Werris Creek on Saturday
It set entry prices at $10 for adults and $3 for aged pensioners.
The prices are based on the fact that there will be five matches at each ground for each weekend of the finals.
That has come about due to the splitting of the ladies league tag competition into tier one and tier two
North Tamworth is the minor premier in tier one and Werris Creek is the minor premier of tier two.
This weekend’s elimination semi-finals at David Taylor Park (Saturday) and the qualifying finals at Jack Woolaston Oval (Sunday) start at 10am.
