A top 10 result for the first girl home and a new record for the fastest TAS student were highlights of the City2Surf fun run in Sydney for the 272-strong team from The Armidale School.
The largest school team in the world’s largest fun run by a country mile, the students made their presence felt along the 14km route.
Five new records were set at the 2018 North West Secondary Athletics Carnival with Quirindi High School’s Lacie Quigley claiming two of them.
Amazingly, one of the records Quigley broke was her own mark set the previous year in the 14 years 1500m.
And, Conrad Starr took his season try tally against Inverell to seven on Saturday as Pirates spoiled the Highlanders triumphant 2008 sides’ 10th anniversary reunion.
The Dave Kearsey-led side beat Pirates in an epic decider 24-20 to claim only the club’s second-ever first grade premiership.
