A 24-year-old Gunnedah man has been charged after a car crash on Saturday night.
Police were called to the Oxley Highway near Carroll at 10.35pm after reports a car had crashed causing minor damage to the vehicle.
A police spokesperson said the man was questioned at the scene.
“Upon arrival at the scene police spoke with the man,” the spokesperson said.
“At which point he was asked to provide a sample of his breath for the purposes of a breath analysis.”
Police allege the man then failed the road side breath test.
“The sample of breath the man provided returned with a positive reading for alcohol, at which time the man was arrested and accompanied police back to Gunnedah Police Station,” the spokesperson said.
“Once back at the station, the man gave a mid-range blood alcohol sample and was charged with mid-range drink driving and negligent driving.”
The 24-year-old will appear in Gunnedah Local Court on September 4.
