Moree will field two teams in the round robin comp, and they will go up against opponents like Tamworth, Armidale and Inverell.
In division one, Moree is in placed fifth, while their third-placed division two side will be out to defend their title.
“Hopefully we can get all the way to the finals in Tamworth,” Moree and District Netball Association’s Dimity Boydell said.
“The team has to be in the top four to make it that far, and there’s definitely potential.”
The first round saw Moree’s teams play off in Armidale at the end of July. Despite a rocky start on the day, the teams managed to pick up their game and brought their performance on par with expectations.
“With the wind, rain and all of the above, it made it very difficult for all teams to perform. The weather played a bit of havoc, and the girls had to adjust their skills to beat the wind,” Boydell said.
Boydell said that the team’s fitness levels were praise worthy, and that the players always walked away from a game with a close scoreboard.
“There were plenty of comments from other clubs about how well the girls performed. It’s an extremely long day with half an hour games and only an half-an-hour break in between [them],” she said.
On Sunday, the action starts at 8.30am.
