Narrabri are so short of players they will not take a team bus to Werris Creek on Sunday for a crucial clash against the Magpies, says Blues coach Wayne Saunders.
A win would see Narrabri leapfrog Werris Creek into fourth spot and cement them a finals berth with one round of the competition remaining.
Beating Werris Creek would end any thoughts Dungowan have of making the finals.
However Saunders said the side would be seriously down on personnel for the Magpies clash.
“It’s a big game, very important for us,” he said.
“But it’s a week where we are missing five players [due to work commitments].
“At this stage we have 12 [players] and that’s relying on one junior as well. It’s just a bad time for us. And something we’ve had to deal with all year.”
Saunders said the Blues “got lucky” player wise for their recent 22-20 loss to Norths, with just about “everyone on deck”.
“But this week we’re chasing players,” he said.
