Richard Hillier grew up around Barraba and he says the current drought conditions are the worst he has seen in his life.
“Ninety-nine per cent of the state is in drought,” Mr Hillier said.
“I just thought there's ambo stations all over the state and a whole lot would be seeing it.”

Mr Hillier has started a campaign to get the state’s paramedics to donate a gold coin to the Tamworth drought fundraiser ‘R U Aware, We Care’.
With 3,500 ambos in NSW, Mr Hillier thought it would be a quickfire way to get at least $3,500 raised for the cause.
“I just feel so helpless,” he said.
“I’d love to do something for the farmers and I think any ambo would.”
Not from a farming background himself, Mr Hillier grew-up in a rural community and has been helping a couple of mates on farms.
“It gets to you,” he said.
“You see sheep discarding lambs because they’re not strong enough to keep them and cows doing the same.
“It’s just dust, you see animals walking along in paddocks just kicking up dust, it’s so sad.
“I feel for them.”
Mr Hillier said he has reached out to NSW Ambulance to set up a bank account for paramedics to donate to.
