Matthew Holmes represented the under 15s NSW Country side while Harry Lewington, Logan Spinks and Charlie Walsh all played in the under 13s NSW Country side.
Both NSW Country sides progressed to the semi-final stage before being knocked out.
The under 13s missed out on a grand final berth by the barest of margins against NSW Metro.
The Metro side won their match against country on the final ball.
But the results haven’t deterred the Tamworth cricketers.
“All in all, it was a great experience. They’re all saying they want to have another crack next year,” Harry’s dad, Don, said.
To put their best foot forward for selection in 2019, Don said having indoor cricket pitches in Tamworth would make everything a lot easier.
“It’d be good to have an indoor cricket centre in Tamworth,” Don said.
“It means the boys could practice and push for higher honours.”
Don said all four boys played well at the championships.
“In the 15s, which involved Matt Holmes, they made the semi final, had a narrow loss but had a great week of cricket,” he said.
”Logan went really well, he had a great game in the semi final.
“Charlie Walsh was solid through the week and Harry, for one of the youngest players there, he held his own as well.”
