Lane bagged a double in the uncustomary striker’s role with her second coming after excellent lead up work from Lucy Frame put Lane in space who scored.

Then, a powerful penalty corner strike from Allison Billinghurst saw South United take a 3-0 lead into the break.

The message for Souths at half-time was to continue to use width and help create an advantage.

They did that with Sharon Joliffe reaping the benefits with a double. Frame capped off a solid game scoring a nice goal while Brittany Parker was rewarded with a goal for her player of the match performance.
