The club will raise funds for the Gomeroi Gaaynggal centre for women’s health, that works to improve health outcomes and opportunities for Aboriginal women and their children.
The focus of the centre is its arts and health program, centre executive director Lyniece Keogh said.
“Art is proven to be an important factor in improving the mental health of Indigenous people,” she said.
The centre runs art workshops centered around painting with mum’s and children, creating art and storytelling is a way to learn more about culture and issues surrounding chronic disease for the Indigenous community.

The Gomeroi Gaaynggal centre runs from philanthropic donations and some government funding.
“Our center is excited that a local organization Tamworth Magpies is supporting another community lead organisation” Mrs Keogh said.
This is the first year Tamworth Magpies Ladies’ Day will be raising funds for another community group, functions coordinator Simone Upton said.
“It’s women supporting other women, there is no better way to show our community we care,” she said.
This year marks many first for the Magpies rugby club, as the men in first grade walk on the field with a woman in their life who’s special to them.
The boys will also wear a special jersey, that at the conclusion of the game being auctioned off with all proceeds from the shirts going to Gomeroi Gaaynggal centre.
Tickets are $35 for members and $40 for non-members, and include champagne, a grazing table until the end of first grade and lucky door entry.
Gates open at 11am with the ladies balcony opening at 12pm, and the bar from 1pm.
There will be a charity auction after first grade football game followed by entertainment from CJ Langers on Saturday July 14.
