Carers and children dressed up in red and spent the day playing, dancing and learning in support of Red Nose Day.
Red Nose Day raises funds for Red Nose, formerly SIDS and Kids, that aims to reduce unexplained child deaths through free education for parents, backed by scientific research.
Milestone Centre manager, Krista Lynch said promoting awareness for the cause was very important.
“Obviously it's something really close to home - we have two nurseries here, with 12 babies a day, so it's something we really want to raise awareness for, also through donations as well,” Ms Lynch said.
Along with gold coin donations from a lolly jar guessing game, the Milestone families and staff plan to raise money for the cause with a disco on Friday night.
“It means that we can just get awareness out. We can talk to families, have the conversations about how to prevent SIDS,” Ms Lynch said.
“We are having fun celebrating the day, but at the same time we are also raising money for SIDS, so we are going to continue that.”
They also have a Facebook donation page that has already raised $160, and along with the gold coin donations, plan to raise $200 at the disco.
