The Kootingal Kougars and North Companions could not be separated in the event’s inaugural year in 2017 – finishing on 18-all after a series of matches.
But after 12 matches from under-12 to first-grade men at Kootingal on Saturday, the Kougars merged victorious 21-15. The home side won seven games to five.
Northies could have forced another draw had they won the first-grade men’s match – the last clash of the day. But Kooty won 1-0.
North Companions junior president Steve Mitchell said the games were again played in a great spirit.
“There was basically a game all day at Kootingal, which was fantastic,” he said.
He added: “When it was put together, both committees jumped at the chance. Obviously every year you hope to build on it and attract some more people to watch the games.”
Well-known Tamworth sports identity Bob Barber is a life member of both clubs.
