Tamworth Public School students have thrown their best moves behind a campaign to aid farmers doing it tough because of the drought.

The school’s P&C has been collecting goods like canned food, toiletries and household items, to be distributed to farmers and their families.
In the end they amassed 42 boxes of groceries and more than $1,000 in donations.
“You see the images on television and even though we’re in the middle of the city there wouldn’t be too many kids that aren’t associated with the land in some way,” Deputy principal Kevin Squires said.
The students also organised for a rain dance to be performed at their Friday assembly.
“We wanted to help out because the farmers are having a really tough time,” School captain Simon Matthews said.
