Taking on Tudors, Waratahs went up 2-0 before Tudors hit back with a goal of their own and took all that momentum into the final stages of the game.
But Waratahs held on to win through their strong defensive efforts.
“I thought our defence and midfield was pretty strong,” Worpel said.
“We created a lot of turnovers in the midfield and got the ball going forward to catch them out with counter attacks.”

Worpel said when Waratahs went on the attack, things went a touch awry.
“We had 15 or so short corners, we just couldn't convert,” Worpel said.
“I thought our options in the circle were pretty poor.
“We could have scored seven or eight goals in that game. We had enough opportunities. We either took the ball too far or shot from a bad angle. We weren’t taking the right options.”
Worpel said he thought the whole side “played pretty well” with Katrina Rekunow and Nicole Reid-Smith scoring goals for the Waratahs.
Services and Olympians also clashed in the Tamworth Hockey Association women’s competition on the weekend.
And by the end of the game the two sides couldn’t be split.
The game ended in a 1-all draw.
Olympians coach Andrew Farmilo thought the final scoreline was a fair result.
“It probably was. I think, probably both coaches went away thinking either side could have won,” Farmilo said.
“There was a lot of missed chances from both teams.
“That came down to good goalkeeping and poor execution.”
Services went up in the first half and held that lead for most of the match.
It wasn’t until inside the final 10 minutes that Olympians scored.
Farmilo said a goal was always around the corner – for both sides.
“We were down, I think they scored in the first half and we didn’t score until about eight minutes to go,” he said.
“It felt like anyone was going to score at any minute.
“It was end to end and there was missed chance after missed chance. It always felt like the ball was going to go in for one of the sides.”
In the Flames match against Souths, Flames came away with a 3-1 win after Tegan Smith scored a double.
