Peter Best has been in private practice at Greencross Vets South Tamworth (previously South Tamworth Animal Hospital) for more than 40 years.

Half of the practice’s clients are referred from the dozens of other practices across the region and beyond.

Although his resume is too extensive to fully cover, Dr Best graduated from Sydney University in the mid-’70s.
He chaired the Australia and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists Chapter of Anaesthesia from 1991-95.
He was named the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) Small Animal Practitioner of the Year in 1991.
Professions Australian highly commended him in 2004 for his professionalism, contribution to postgraduate education and promotion of animal welfare.
In 2009, Dr Best received the AVA’s Meritorious Service Award, and the AVA also bestowed on him the Ron Hyne Memorial Award for his outstanding career in the veterinary profession, in 2017.
Dr Best has been supported by wife Janena, three children Joanna, Andrew and Nicholas throughout his career.
