Nancye Hayes and Todd McKenny are bringing Bosom Buddies to the Tamworth Capitol Theatre.
In this new show, they reflect on their stage careers and their lives off stage, as well as on. They sing, they dance, they reminisce - about the lows, about the highs, as well as tell back stage stories.
Hayes said the show was intimate and a chance to get to know the duo better.
“It’s the kind of show where you get to know us as people, rather than the characters we have played over the years,” she said.
“We share stories of our careers, the ups and downs of the business.
“Then we intersperse it with a number of songs and dance and old video footage and photographers of ourselves. We then have a Q&A session at the end.”
Hayes said she and McKenny’s relationship dates back 30 years, when he scored his first leading role on 42nd Street.
“We decided we’d love to spend more time on stage together, and then this opportunity formulated,” she said.
“The feedback we get from our audiences is we feel very comfortable with each other.
“A lot of country people for years came to the city to see the big musicals, and we thought it was time we went out and visited them.”

Hayes, a theatre veteran, said she has remained in the business so long because she loves her audiences.
“I very much love the rapport you have with an audience,” she said.
“The experience is never the same over two nights.
“The audiences can be quite different, so you adjust your performances accordingly.”
Don’t miss out on many more stories, experiences and footage from Nancye Hayes and Todd McKenny.
Catch them at the Tamworth Capitol Theatre on Monday, May 28 from 7.30pm, and Tuesday, May 29 from 11am.
