For the first time in four years, the Tamworth Regional Gallery will host the prize, with its exhibition opening on November 30.
Director Bridget Guthrie said it would be a fillip for the gallery which would host the finalists right through the 2019 country music festival.

“We specifically planned to have it up during the Tamworth Country Music Festival to demonstrate, that, yes, we’ve got an amazing country music festival, but we have so much more,” Ms Guthrie said.
She said securing the prize underpinned the gallery’s goal.
“It’s our mission to provide to quality art in a regional setting and that philosophy is very important to us,” Ms Guthrie said.
“Absolutely, we’re expecting a high attendance, not only tourists, but locals as well.”
