The masters of punishing their opposition for their mistakes, the students’ spoiled the Magpies’ debut 42-5.
“Most of Albies tries came from our mistakes either through ball security or our illdiscipline,” Magpies coach Peter Burke recalled.
“We have to tidy that up, not just because of Albies, but in general.”
Burke is expecting the students to come out firing after they were beaten by Armidale last week.
“That would have stung them into action a bit,” he said.
He concedes they have a “pretty big ladder to climb” to turn things around but said the players are upbeat.
They are raring to get out there after two weekends without football for most of them, which is for Burke one of his biggest concerns.
“The worry is they’ll come out rusty,” he said.

Lachie Ennis has been rewarded for his three-try performance off the bench against Robb College with a start at loose head prop.
Blake Clout also comes into the side at outside centre after recently returning from overseas.
“He played third grade last week and played well enough to tempt me to give him a start,” Burke said.
Dan Onus has also “forced his way onto the wing” after some good performances in second grade.
