- Inspector Martin Burke
Following medical treatment, a 16-year-old boy was released from hospital.
It’s understood all three teenagers are local to the area. The crash shut the road for several hours as investigators examined the scene and the wreckage.
Moree officer-in-charge Inspector Martin Burke said police will be looking a whole range of factors that could have contributed to the crash.
He said factors like speed, alcohol, if the teens were wearing seatbelts, conditions at the time and the moments leading up to the crash, would form part of the brief for the coroner.
Inspector Burke said the wreckage would also be examined to determine if any mechanical issues might have contributed to the crash.
“We reiterate that people go about their business in a safe manner and drive to the road conditions and make sure you wear a seat belt,” Inspector Burke said.
“Police are out in force across the district with the traffic safety operation, Operation Merit ongoing.”
