To be held this Saturday, May 12, Moree on a Plate is one of the region’s premier food and wine festivals, which aims to promote the thriving boutique produce industries borne from the region's rich black soil plains.
More than 50 producers from across NSW and South East Queensland will be showcased at this year’s festival, dishing up a smorgasbord of delicious produce from oranges to olives, pecans to pâté.
Acclaimed celebrity chef Ben O’Donoghue will be this year’s special guest and is set to conduct a number of highly-anticipated cooking demonstrations using local produce.

Moree on a Plate president Bethany Kelly said the whole community was extremely excited to welcome Ben to this year’s festival.
“To have such a high calibre chef as Ben attend our event and work with our local produce is sensational,” she said.
“It’s also a wonderful reflection on the strength and quality of Moree on a Plate, which is still organised and run entirely by a local committee of volunteers.”
Another exciting new guest to this year’s festival will be popular rural and regional advocate, George the Farmer, who is expected to be a hit with the younger festival goers.
The life-size, plush farming character will be conducting live performances in the Landcare Kids Korner, educating local children about food production through song and dance.
The Kids Korner will also feature a photo booth, craft stations, face painting and ‘Bubble Muffin’ cooking demonstrations to keep the little ones entertained.
Another highlight will be the highly coveted 'Blokes on the BBQ' cooking competition which will see local teams battle it out to decide who is Moree’s BBQ King for 2018.
With music and entertainment throughout the day, the event is sure to satisfy all tastebuds.
Moree on a Plate will be held on the grounds of Moree Secondary College from 10am to 4pm. For more information visit www.moreeonaplate.com.au.
