Oxley police are hosting ‘Coffee with a Cop’ in a bid to spread the crime prevention message, talk to locals and bolster community safety.
On Tuesday morning, Tamworth officer-in-charge Chief Inspector Jeff Budd along with Oxley police will be shouting a cuppa for two hours in Tamworth.
There are keyboard warriors out there who peddle fear in the community and we want to talk to locals and work with them to boost their security, show them crime prevention measures and what better way than to do it over a coffee.

“It’s about talking to the community, listening to their concerns, and working to ensure they don’t become a victim of crime,” he said.
“There are keyboard warriors out there who peddle fear in the community and we want to talk to locals and work with them to boost their security, show them crime prevention measures and what better way than to do it over a coffee.
“We know some people get intimidated by walking into a police station, so we’ll be here at Coffee Run, and we’ll have highway patrol, police on bikes, plain clothes police and we want the community to come and talk to us.”
Coffee with a Cop will be held from 10-12pm at Coffee Run, off Ebsworth Street.
Similar events will also be held in Gunnedah in Wolsely Park, on the corner of Connadilly Street and Marquis Street, and in Narrabri at Cafe 123 in Maitland Street.
In the New England, police will shout locals a coffee at The Corner Cafe in Rouse Street in Tenterfield from 10-11am on Tuesday.
