The Spring Ridge Starlight Car Bush Rally and Family Bonfire Fireworks night, to be held on Saturday, July 7, is in its eighth year.
The rally was started by two families getting together for some old-fashioned backyard fun and, after the loss of one of the family members to cancer, was changed to a family community event to bring all families in the area together.
The car bush rally started last year with Jack Burgess, then aged nine, raising money for The Starlight Foundation, a service the Burgess family has used in hospital since Jack was a baby born with severe medical conditions.
Jack started a Friday night pub raffle at Spring Ridge for Starlight raising $1200 over four months.
The family then organised a car rally with a quiz and local route to see the countryside and have some fun. It raised $2500 for Starlight with a target this year of $5000.
The day and night is all about community family spirit.
