The ceremony in the court yard of Winanga-Li included readings, a traditional tribal dance and speeches from Gunnedah mayor Jamie Chaffey and child care staff members.
Winanga-Li centre manager Wayne Griffiths spoke at the ceremony about the importance of family and history.
Family is number one for me, and I think should be a priority for everyone, Mr Philips said in his speech.
Anzac Day is about remembering our past and paying respect to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
