The Manilla project, which was scheduled to occur on Tuesday, April 24 and Thursday April 26, has been postponed due to community feedback around Anzac Day but will need to go ahead in the near future, Essential Energy has said.
The works included the replacement of 1.2km “of powerline and associated network infrastructure to increase network capacity to meet growing local energy demands”.

“While there is never an ideal time for a power outage, customers can plan for times when planned work is scheduled on the network for either maintenance or upgrades,” Essential Energy’s regional manager – northern Mark Summers said.
“If this work is not completed, it can result in unplanned outages which can potentially cause lengthier disruptions to larger number of customers.”
Affected customers will be provided notice of the rescheduled planned power outage dates to allow them to make alternative arrangements, if necessary.
All customers are encouraged to have contingency plans in place for both unplanned and planned power outages, with the level of these plans varying based on their individual requirements.
