The passenger of the X-Trail, a 54-year-old man, died at the scene.
The driver of the Hilux, a 17-year-old boy, and the driver of the X-Trail, a 70-year-old man, were both taken to Tamworth Hospital for treatment.
Following inquiries, the Hilux driver, now aged 18, was arrested at Tamworth Police Station on Friday and charged with dangerous driving occasioning death; dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm; negligent driving causing death; negligent driving causing grievous bodily harm; and drive with prescribed illicit drug in system.
He was given bail to appear in Tamworth Children’s Court on May 22.
