Long-time Tamworth Taxi operate Greg Rowland said the city’s fleet would be on 24/7 this weekend.
“The board met and decided that given the social importance of what’s happening, and the expected surge in demand, we would have every taxi available for this weekend,” Mr Rowland said.
“We’ve also told our dispatch centre to be extra perceptive when people are booking a taxi.
“Given there are a lot of people from out of town, they may not no exactly where they are. We’ll be making the extra effort to determine where they are, so we can get to them quickly and efficiently.”
Wests Entertainment Group CEO Rod Laing said while there was a bus service for the City vs Country game in 2016, the club found it wasn’t needed.
“Since that game we’ve finished the Mercure Hotel, so it’s car park will be available,” he said.
“No doubt it will be busy, but we have enough parking in our high rise car park, our hotel and in the streets near the grounds.
“We’ve also added about 20 extra disabled parking spots.”
There will also be plenty of food options. “There are the traditional pies and hot dogs all around the ground, and on the western side there will be a food court the specialises in gourmet food,” Mr Laing said.
“There will be craft burgers, stone-baked pizzas, a barbecue and gelato.”
