Adam Francis Collett lodged a fresh bid for bail in Tamworth Local Court on Monday charged with a string of offences after a crash on Friday afternoon.
Police allege the 38-year-old ran from the crash on Scott Road, at the intersection of Peel Street, sparking a large police operation.
Four cars were damaged in the incident but the motorists only suffered minor injuries.
The Tamworth Target Action Group (TAG), general duties police, detectives and the dog unit surrounded the area around the Peel River and nearby caravan park, and eventually arrested Collett.
He was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with several offences including driving recklessly or furiously, driving while disqualified, damaging property, resisting police and not giving particulars to other drivers.
He spent the weekend in custody before fronting court again on Monday where he was denied bail by magistrate Roger Prowse.
Collett pleaded not guilty to all offences and will return to court in May.
