“One thing we did, we ran the ball pretty well and got into their forward 50 a lot but we broke down kicking goals. We just couldn’t score,” Swans coach Paul Kelly said.
Despite the Swans suffering their second heavy loss of the season, following a 125-point round one loss to Inverell, Kelly said there were promising signs against New England.
“I thought we played really well,” he said. “We attacked every contest really well. They just had more experience than us, and we knew that.”
The final score was 22.20-152 to 4.3-27.
The Nomads kicked five goals and four behinds to lead 34-0 at the end of the first quarter.
In other games on Saturday, the Bulldogs beat the Eagles 16.18-114 to 4.1.25 in Narrabri, and the Saints thumped the Suns 23.31-169 to 4.6-30 in Moree.
