A Manilla woman who has worked tirelessly for the local community has been recognised as part of the NSW Seniors Festival.

Barbara Barwick was named 2018 Manilla Senior of the Year on Tuesday.
Ms Barwick has given her time to Meals On Wheels for many years as well as shared her knitting skills - knitting or crocheting rugs for Acacia, Namoi and Manellae Wings of the Manilla Health Service as part of the Manilla Knitting Group. She has also donated items to residents in the high care unit.

The Awards recognised the invaluable contribution of those who have assisted older people in the Manilla community.
“(Today) we recognise an outstanding senior in Barbara, whose generosity has gone a long way to helping others,” Tamworth Regional Council Mayor Col Murray said.
“It is a testament to the community that there were 23 entries for the Awards. It goes to show the work of Seniors is highly valued and (this) has been a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate these valuable contributions.”
