Nundle Amateur Swimming Club has held its annual presentation at Nundle Swimming Pool.
A highlight of the presentation was the announcement that Nundle Country Picnic organisers, guests and volunteers raised $3,000 for Nundle Amateur Swimming Club.
The club said fundraising efforts will ensure that the club is able to continue with learn to swim and coaching next season.
“Special thank you to Nundle Country Picnic Committee, The Old Church Boutique, Mrs Pat Hill, and Inter Schools Horse Extravaganza Committee,” the club said.
Prize winners based on points awarded for each event at time trials each week and an extra point for every personal best for the duration of the season include:
Minor point score: Tarlieya Taylor; junior point score: Gryff Trousdale; Barbara Matthews Shield: senior point score, Saskia Fitzgerald; beginners encouragement: Tyler Woodard; Pat Hill beginners achievement: Allee Thompson; junior encouragement: Alex Burr; junior achievement: Ryan Fitzgerald; and Boland Memorial Senior Sportsmanship, attitude, ability: Sequoia Stone.
Nundle Amateur Swimming Club secretary Marjolijn Fitzgerald said there was a big focus on learn to swim this season with lots of new members attracted thanks to Jackie Bromfield’s amazing coaching and long time commitment to the Club. The Club also thanked outgoing president of many years Nicola Worley.
The following members attended zone and regional PSSA swimming during the season: Tyler Summers, Bryce Thompson, Allee Thompson, Ryan Fitzgerald, Saskia Fitzgerald, Jack Whale, Burr, Trousdale and Zachary Bradford, with Stone set to compete at state level later this month.
The club’s perpetual trophy for adult relay has been revived (it was last awarded in 1995-1996 to Carl Short, Belinda Craig, David McKay and Kerrie Swain). The winners this season are Stephen Gadd, Fiona Tyler and Megan Trousdale.
