The annual golf day pits the slain officer’s colleagues and friends against one another, to raise money for charity.
On Friday, on the sixth anniversary of Senior Constable Rixon’s death, police from as far as Walcha, Werris Creek, Gunnedah, Quirindi and other sectors in the Oxley area took to the greens of the Tamworth Golf Club.
Senior Constable Rixon was gunned down and killed in 2012 in West Tamworth while performing a routine traffic stop.
