TWO-TIME Golden Guitar winner Tom Curtain isn’t resting on his laurels, releasing his new single, Livin’ In The Bush, hot on the heels of his Tamworth Country Music Festival success.
Tom won two Golden Guitars with Luke O’Shea - Toyota Heritage Song of the Year and CMC Video Clip of the Year for Never Never Land – the first single off Tom’s Territory Time album at the 2018 Country Music Awards of Australia in January this year.
For Tom Curtain he became a Golden Guitar winner and a dual one at that for the very first time.
Livin’ In The Bush is the third single lifted from the album and it was released earlier this month and has already been met with praise from both Curtain’s fans and his peers.
Co-written by Tom Curtain and Garth Porter, Livin’ in the Bush pays homage to life in remote Australia where the comforts of urban living are few and far between.
Yet with a bit of creativity, the extreme isolation does not get in the way of having a good time.
“Livin’ in the bush is an upbeat song for the fun loving, hardworking Australians out there,” Tom said.
The upbeat and fun track is a celebration of life in remote Australia shows that the men and women who work hard also love nothing more than to party hard when they get the chance.
“It signifies what goes on out in the bush when people work pretty hard for up to three months before they get to town and they make their own fun,” Curtain said of the new release.
“Whether it’s out at a waterhole, a game of cricket or local camp draft, they know how to turn it on.
“There’s also a great camaraderie out there.
“Cattle stations can have up to 30 or 40 people working in the heat all year long.
“But when they get a bit of time off, other cattle stations come together and they have a big party.
“If they work hard, they then have time off, have a bit of fun, kick their heels up and let their hair down and this song is all about that time.”
Featuring horses, country girls and blokes, a water buffalo, bikinis and even a pig participating in a volleyball game, the accompanying video is sure to be turning heads.
