Performing at both Capitol Theatre Tamworth and Bendemeer Town Hall as part of Tamworth Regional Council’s initiative, Capitol Theatre Presents, this dynamic group of performers whose deep understanding of Klezmer, the celebratory and soulful music of Eastern European Jews, is reflected in exuberant, passionate and accomplished performances.
Their stage presence has captivated audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
The group plays old and new traditional material guaranteed to move audiences from toe-tapping to tears and back again in moments.
The group is Ilana Cravitz (violin), Susi Evans (clarinet), Carol Isaacs (accordion) – all direct from the UK – and Aussie, Indra Buraczewska (double bass and vocals).
London Klezmer Quartet’s winning combination of exuberance, passion and accomplishment has proven extremely popular – within just a year of the group’s formation in 2009, the London Klezmer Quartet was being booked by leading folk music promoters and festivals around the world.
