Quirindi High School students Molly Elford and Caitlin Etheridge have performed with distinction at Little Athletics’ regional championships in Tamworth.
Elford won gold in the senior girls 4x100 relay, silver in the 80m hurdles and bronze in the 200m hurdles.
Etheridge won silver in the 90m hurdles and bronze in the long jump.
Both girls made it through to the state championships, to be held at the end of March in Sydney.
Elford has also been selected in 2018 NIAS netball program and the Tamworth Netball Association under-14 squad.
Both girls were invited to go to Canada for an Athletics Australia tour this year.
Etheridge is looking forward to heading to Canada.
But due to the netball State Cup Championships in Sydney being held at the same time as the tour, Elford made the decision to focus on netball this year.
It is hoped she will get another invitation for the tour in 2019.
